NORWICH SINGING WORKSHOP. BROUGHT TO YOU BY INVIDIA VOICES – ROCK & SOUL CHOIR!

Our Singing Workshops are designed to suit everyone who considers themselves a beginner or worse!!  If the thought of singing in the same room as other people turns you into a nervous wreck, or if you love singing but know you could be a lot better, this one-of-a-kind workshop is for you!

  • NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    This means you don’t have to wonder if you will be “good enough”. If you love singing and would like to improve, then this workshop is for you!
  • NO NEED TO READ MUSIC
    This means you will be able to join in from the start just by following the lyrics! However, sheet music is available if you prefer.
  • YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED TO SING ON YOUR OWN
    Don’t panic, we’re not that cruel! This is a relaxed, fun, and safe environment for you to experience singing in a group whilst improving your vocal skills.

WANT TO KNOW MORE?

  • WHAT WILL BE HAPPENING ON THE DAY?
    You will learn to improve the tone of your voice, manage your nerves when you sing, sing in tune (and stay there!) hints and tips that the professionals use, how to sing in a group in harmony, and much more! By the end of this workshop, you will:

    •   Understand the workings and (perhaps in some cases) the failings of the human voice
    •   Sing with more confidence
    •   Project your voice clearly and accurately
    •   Demonstrate a clearer sense of phrasing, pitching, and rhythm
    •   Be singing as part of an ensemble
    •   Know how to correctly exercise your voice at home

 

  • DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE?
    Upon booking your spot, you’ll receive informative emails detailing the songs scheduled for the day. While it’s optional to review and print out lyrics in advance, it’s not mandatory, as all necessary materials will be provided on the day. Additionally, an optional survey will be sent to understand your specific expectations for the event. Participation in the survey is not compulsory, and what we truly hope you bring on the day is your enthusiasm (and maybe a bottle of water!).
  • WHAT LEVEL IS THE WORKSHOP, AND DO I NEED ANY PARTICULAR SKILLS?
    No prerequisites are necessary for attending this workshop. There’s no judgment or requirement to perform in front of others. The workshop is designed to enhance your singing enjoyment, regardless of your skill level.
  • WHAT DOES IT COST?
    The workshop fee is only £10, an exceptional value for over 3 hours of enriching singing expertise. Considering that most singing lessons are priced at £35 per hour, this represents a fantastic opportunity. Additionally, complimentary tea and coffee will be provided on the day. Please be aware that tickets are non-refundable once booked.
  • IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?
    Ample parking is available at the rear of the venue. Simply take the road to the left of the Church to access the free car park.
  • IS THIS RELIGIOUS IN ANY WAY?
    Not at all. Despite being hosted in a church hall, Invidia Voices is a rock/pop/soul choir, distinct from religious choirs. The venue is chosen for its excellent facilities. Importantly, there will be no religious or political content in the songs we perform.
  • IS THIS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
    This event is not recommended for children under 12. Any children in attendance are the sole responsibility of their parents or guardians.

 

WHO ARE INVIDIA VOICES?
Invidia Voices is a fun and funky rock and soul choir, and we will be delivering your Singing Workshop for you. We do not sing traditional choral music and our rehearsals are the highlight of the week for many of our members. Our musical director Matt will be leading the workshop and bringing the same elements of fun and enjoyable learning that he teaches in the choir, to deliver to you a fantastic day of singing, learning, and fun! In 2019, the choir was asked to provide a 4o strong gospel style choir to perform on stage with Take That on their world tour.  After months of extra rehearsal, members of the choir delivered the performance of their lives in front of over 30,000 people alongside Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, and Lulu.
